Always Remember

8"x8" framed oil on linen canvas panel

This was done after a trip to the battlegrounds in Normandy.  Bob is a history nut. so we had to go.  We took a private tour which was absolutely amazing.  We explored bunkers and saw the beaches and the cliffs and the cemetery.  It was profound.  But this little place on a farm where they found a hidden encampment and bunkers that had been covered by dirt was the one that housed this small museum of collected helmets.  All of it brought me to tears and made me realize the supreme sacrifice others had made to protect our democracy.  How dare we not vote.  It is the least we can do.
