Portfolio of Works

I love animals and never even thought about painting them.  But, once I started, I just loved doing it.  Here you will find some of the paintings I have done that have animals in them.  Some are portraits that I did of some of my favorite fur babies and already have a home with their humans.  Others are paintings of things people do with animals.  We are so lucky to have them in our lives!

As a former school counselor, licensed therapist and general people person, my main interest is people.  I strive to become a portrait artist.  I have always found that sketching people not only gives me pleasure, but I'm not bad at it.  I used to get great pleasure from sketching people on napkins and random loose pieces of paper whenever I was out and about.  Now I am learning to do that in oil paint.

I have been lucky to travel extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Africa and Australia.   Visiting places around the world has given me the opportunity to experience many different cultures and to enjoy many different places.  Some of the scenery I have been exposed to is simply too wonderful to not be shared.  Painting gives me the ability to put paint to canvas in a way that, hopefully, imparts the feeling being there had on me.  From the mountains to the valleys to the ocean...isn't that what "America the Beautiful" is all about?  In this collection you will find some local scenes and some from my travels.  I have tried to describe each of them as best as I can.
